Push-Ups with Python!

Computer says: drop and give me 50!

Aryan Via has developed a simple system for monitoring pushups using a webcam. It counts them and gives feedback on using the correct form.

It uses OpenCV (a computer vision library) plus Google's Mediapipe library (a machine learning library).

People often ask me how they can get started in data science, and I tell them to develop a project that demonstrates their skills. The is a great example of that. Somebody has used what they have available (a webcam and their body) and built a cool little tool using some interesting technologies.
